The OC-4 provides a lot of versatility for paddlers. An excellent surfing and training canoe, the Northbeach OC-4 is perfect for when only four of your crew of six turns out to practice. The OC-4 is both light and easy to maneuver. A drop skeg helps the novice keep a straight course.

The canoe’s construction is very technologically advanced with a pair of fully infused halves (left and right) being joined in the mold. This combines both weight savings and time savings to produce a hull that is both extremely light and is still affordable.

The hull’s shape has a strong sectional change through its length. The bow runs deep and narrow with a parabolic cross section allowing room above the waterline for the paddlers. Chines emerge amidships and harden as they travel aft giving the canoe a very wide, flat surfing stern.

Having a short waterline, this canoe reacts to steering faster than you ever thought possible. A retractable skeg that can be operated by the steersman on-the-fly lets the amount of tracking and amount of maneuverability be fine-tuned.
